Sleggubeinsdalur - Engidalur (- Marardalur)

An easy, but a rather long flatland hike.

The trail starts at Hellisheiði Geothermal Plant and circles the edge of Húsmúli to Engidalur, a beautiful valley nested under the steepest side of Hengill. Múlasel hiking hut in peaceful Engidalur is ideal for a lunch break.

A little further on, an information post splits the trail, with one way leading straight up to Vörðu-Skeggi (trail 9) and the other (trail 1) through a narrow pass into Marardalur and on to Dyradalur or Nesjavellir.
