Hydropower
Approximately 85% of electricity in Iceland is generated by hydropower. Orkuveita Reykjavíkur operates two hydropower stations with a combined output of 11,4 MW. Andakílsárvirkjun Station in Borgarfjörður (W-Iceland) generates 8,2 MW. Elliðaárvirkjun Station, the first hydropower station in Iceland (est.1921), generates 3,2 MW.
